National Defense Office

     The National Defense Office is an agency tasked with the overall defense of Diking.  Its missions include designing defense systems and protocols, intelligence gathering, and threat neutralization.  It is separate from the Imperial Armed Forces structure, but operates closely with it.  The NDO operates its own equipment, including everything from intelligence gathering assets to warplanes.  In a day to day role, the NDO monitors and takes action on many threats without involving the regular military.  In a real crisis, the NDO would coordinate closely with the Defense Minister and the Dikanian military. 

     The NDO is staffed by officers and crew from the former AstroDome City.  This futuristic settlement was one of the first to be relocated due to increasing land use constraints in the Dikanian countryside.

Here is a shot of the original AstroDome City.  You can see that the command dome survived and was integrated into the new office.  The dome is incredibly secure because it was built to withstand the forces of space and the blast from the launching of the pictured missiles.
