Coland Plaza

Coland Plaza is one of downtown Coland's newest buildings. The concept behind its construction is to provide an environment for civic and commercial interaction. The architects at New Iowa Engineering designed an organic six-story tower rising out of a lobby level atrium.  The ingenious design also allows an identical twin tower to be built, if such space is needed.  The lobby provides space for a relaxing garden and fountain, as well as the Coland Post Office and a bar. The second floor houses the Coland City Offices, including the Mayor's Office and Coland Tourism Bureau. The rest of the tower is devoted to private enterprise, including the offices of New Iowa Engineering, Durkee and von Kuemmel, LLC, Consultants, and private apartments.

Coland Plaza was constructed from the ground up to be a state-of-the-art office complex.

Here the tower is almost complete, with only the roof, elevator, and internal furnishings missing.

Now the tower is in place in downtown Coland, and the tenants are moved in.  In this picture, however, the lobby had not been furnished.

Another angle and a finished lobby with fountain, bar, and post office.

The lobby as viewed from the atrium's rafters.

A sidewalk-level view of the building.  The covered driveway and main entrance (under the tower) is very popular on rainy days.
