Islanders

Diking's Islanders began arriving in the Empire's territory in 1994 from places in Oceania.  They settled both on Python Island in the extreme east of the Chain Islands and also on Fort Island.  The group on Python Island has always considered itself a sovereign nation, a notion which has been affirmed by several acts of Parliament.  Islanders and Dikanians have always enjoyed good and friendly relations, and the Islanders have often aided Dikanian forces in repelling attacks and attempted invasions of the islands.  Since the time of original immigration, the Islander settlement on Fort Island disbanded, with most of the people relocating to Python Island.  The Islanders are ruled by King Kahuka.

On the left you can see King Kahuka seated on his throne.  Various Islanders go about their daily lives in this photograph, while on the right, guards in the fortress keep vigil.
